Baer Brake Systems announces calipers and brake system components designed specifically for Off-Road recreation and competition use!
With the recent announcement that CNC was closing their doors for good and the demand for a higher quality caliper than what was currently being offered in the market place desired; Baer knew the time was right to jump into the off-road braking arena. With recent technological production advancements, Baer is able to offer calipers that best the current crop of CNC, Wilwood, Pro-Am, and other calipers currently available for off-road use at a very competitive price.

6P Competition Calipers:
Based on our 6P road going calipers, these hard-coat anodized versions are available in three different widths to work on a variety of different rotor thicknesses and diameters. Available brackets allow these calipers to replace popular CNC Calipers and others used in off-road racing applications.
6P Features:
- All calipers are CNC (computer numerically controlled) machined billet aluminum for the stiffest possible design.
- Internal crossover design and single bleeder, (a Baer exclusive!) mean less chance of damage due to debris
- Dust and weather seals – increases intervals between rebuilds and overall longevity of the caliper
- No top bridge bolts – pads cannot come out when calipers are worn due to mud packing in the wheels; a common occurrence in Short Course Racing!
- Calipers, CNC drilled and tapped, ready for bolt on wear plates; a Baer exclusive! – means you may never have to replace the calipers from wear due to mud packing!
- Proprietary specification, stainless steel pistons – offer maximum resistance to undesirable “pedal fade” due to brake fluid boiling
- Staggered piston bores to decrease and even eliminate end to end pad taper!
- Large radius opening at the top of the caliper virtually eliminates caliper flex – results in better modulation (control) due to more consistent paedal feedback to the driver!
- D731 Pad backing plate (the same used on ‘97 to current Corvette) is available from more manufacturers, in more compounds than virtually any other competition caliper pad shape in the world! Even available in most auto parts stores! – Means you will never be left stranded or unable to play or race because you couldn’t find pads! It also means that you will no longer be “locked in” to an undesirable pad compound simply because replacement pads are only available from the caliper manufacturer!
- All three widths, .375”, 1.100/1.150” and 1.250” are CNC machined and manufactured in house specifically for the rotor thickness they are intended to be used on – No more narrowing in the field or “cheap” steel shims used to change the caliper width! We do it for you, the right way!
- Radial mounting for the most flexibility in mounting design with optional ear mount brackets that let you directly replace popular CNC caliper designs without additional fabrication!
- 100% MADE IN THE USA!
6PSC (.375” thick rotor) – Developed specifically for use on PRO2 and PRO4 short course competition vehicles which use .375” thick rotors as manufactured by TubeWorks and others, this caliper is also well suited for use on medium to light weight vehicles used for desert racing applications. These calipers are currently in use by Jeff Geiser and Johnny Greaves in CORR, PRO2 and PRO4 competition with excellent results.
6P (1.100/1.150”) – For use in short course competition as well as desert racing where a lighter weight, vented rotor is desired. Popular for lighter weight Trophy Truck applications and Truggies, it is also an excellent choice for road going Pre-Runner applications.
6P (1.250”) – Applications where maximum cooling is desired. Recommended for use in Class 8 and other heavier vehicles (4000+lbs.) where cost is a consideration. (For maximum performance on vehicles weighing over 4000lbs. we recommend our 6R caliper, see below). Currently in use on the TRAXXAS, #77, PRO4 truck driven by Mike Jenkins.
All three versions are applicable for rotor diameters ranging from 12” (304mm) to 14” (355mm).
6P calipers are just $630.00 Racer Net!
6R Trophy Truck Competition Caliper:
Designed specifically for competition use in the extremely demanding world of Trophy Truck, off-road racing; Baer Brake System, Inc.’s newest addition to their already highly competitive line of Off-Road, competition calipers has many features that make it the best choice for Trophy Truck and other full-size truck, off-road race classes. Larger than their 6P and 6PSC calipers designed specifically for Class One Desert and Pro 2 and Pro 4, Short Course competition; this caliper has a higher thermal saturation point for increased fade resistance in higher vehicle weight (4000+lbs.) applications.
Baer Brake Systems, Inc. has developed a manufacturing process that allows them to build mono-block 6-piston caliper’s out of 2618 aluminum forgings that offer many of the benefits of the worlds top level competition calipers that can cost up to twice as much!
Features such as…
- One-piece, “mono-block” forgings, providing the stiffest possible caliper design to reduce radial pad taper and provide the best possible “feedback” to the driver for maximum control
- Internal cross-over design prevents brake fluid circulation restrictions due to external damage from debris commonly associated with external cross-over “tubes”
- Stainless steel, staggered bore pistons virtually eliminate end to end pad taper and offer superior thermal shielding to minimize the effects of brake pedal fade due to brake fluid boiling
- Pressure and wiper seals offer superior protection against contamination and dust while offering controlled pad pull back, resulting in consistent pedal position, turn after turn, lap after lap.
- Incorporating both “bridge bolts” and a “quick change clip”, it allows the use of either “bridge bolts” for superior stiffness, or the ability to run the caliper without bridge bolts to allow quick pad changes in endurance applications. This is an industry first, and a Baer Brake Systems, Inc. exclusive!
- Radial mounting, offering the most flexibility in mounting configurations and the most secure method of attachment.
- Anodized in a “hard-coat”, mil-spec. finish, the finish offers superior abrasion resistance.
- Light weight in design, just 8lbs. 1oz. the 6R caliper has a power to weight ratio that is well suited for competition use where un-sprung weight may be of concern.
- Designed for rotor diameter’s of 13.5” (343mm) to 16” (406mm) by 1.250” (31.75mm) thick.
- Long pad shape maximizes brake “torque” by placing the bulk of the pad friction surface further out away from the hub centerline.
Recommended for applications where maximum braking is required and for competition vehicles weighing over 4000lbs. This is the caliper currently being used by Geiser Brothers Design and Development for their Trophy Truck applications.
All these features at just $1,495.00, Racer Net!
